Teri Thompson, President, Rocky Peak Enterprises, LLC,  is an award-winning advertising, promotions and social media strategist, adjunct professor, author, and international public speaker specializing in social media, marketing, digital media and communication for entertainment, education, automotive, retail, government, start-ups, non-profit clients, and the luxury leisure industry.  She has held creative and executive positions at Disney/ABC, CBS, NBC, and Fox Sports Net where she won awards for launching stars, series, movies, stations, and networks.  She has developed sales marketing partnerships with McDonald’s, General Motors, Toyota, Coors, Microsoft, Dominos, Nokia and other major brands. 


Global Brands
Thompson implemented global social media strategies for Audi of America's Super Bowl XLIV “Green Police" campaign recognized as #1 by the Wall Street Journal and Remote Area Medical that drew worldwide attention.  She served as Media Director at Initiative/IPG Global on U2 Bono’s (RED)™ project combating AIDS in Africa in conjunction with partners Apple, Converse, Motorola, Emporio Armani, Gap, and the United Nations Global Fund. As part of the Innovations Team, she strategized emerging technology marketing campaigns for direct clients Lions Gate Home Entertainment, Hyundai Motors of America, Kia Motors America and collaborated on Dr. Pepper/Snapple, Home Depot, CBS Network, Showtime, Lions Gate Films and Victoria Secret.


Domestic and International Higher Education
In addition to consulting corporate, non-profit, and government clients, Thompson is a Marketing and Social Media Adjunct Professor teaching MBA and undergraduate students at domestic and international universities.  In the U.S., she has guest lectured at the Harvard Faculty Club, USC and UCLA Extension. She has taught courses in Social Media, Marketing Theory, Marketing Management, and Digital Marketing at California Lutheran University, Thousand Oaks, CA, Woodbury University, Burbank, CA and Social Media Marketing for the Luxury Leisure Industry at Vatel University, Los Angeles, CA.  Her international educational presentations have taken her to Hanze University, The Netherlands, Jos University, Nigeria, Halifax College, Canada, the University of Havana, Cuba and IBSA Vienna, Austria. Thompson has also conducted social media marketing presentations for Mercedes-Benz/China executives, government officials from Jiangsu Province, China and a webinar for professionals in Moscow, Russia. She created and oversaw a humanitarian project in conjunction with War Child, Bishop Desmond TuTu’s Peace Center and both Hanze and Woodbury Universities by developing a video game to help children heal from post-traumatic stress suffered in war-torn regions of Sudan.
 

Author and Public Speaker
Thompson is the co-author of The Power of Real-Time Social Media Marketing by McGraw-Hill Professional.  She can be heard as a social media subject matter expert on KNX Radio in Los Angeles.  A much sought-after speaker on the subject of real-time social media, her public and private corporate audiences have included the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, Disney Cable Networks, CBS Radio and numerous Bar Associations.  She has advised the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce, the nation’s second largest COC, and their members on strategic use of social media for business growth. She also spearheaded a national social media research study for the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs Public Art Division on national use of social media for branding and citizen engagement.

Thompson is a native Southern Californian and graduated with honors from California State University, Long Beach.  With extended family throughout the area, she resides in the Los Angeles area of Southern California.
